Alan Cremers, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully at home with his wife of 33 years, Peggy, by his side on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, in Emerald Hills, California. He was 64 years old. Born in Sioux Rapids, IA in 1958, Alan was the seventh of eight children born to parents Bernard and Louise Cremers. He grew up on a farm in Rembrandt, IA. He attended the University of Iowa to study accounting. While at the university, Alan was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. By the time of graduation in 1980, Alan had passed his CPA exams and accepted a job as an auditor with Ernst & Whinney in Seattle, WA. After working two years with that firm, he moved to the Bay Area and continued his education at UC Berkeley Haas School of Business and earned an MBA degree in 1985. Having achieved his MBA, Alan pursued a career in banking then transitioned to finance in biotech and hi-tech start-up companies where he ultimately held the position of CFO. His successes enabled him to retire in 2012. After retirement, Alan was an active volunteer in several organizations benefiting those in need of tax preparation, support, and training. In addition, Alan supported St. Pius School and Parish, Woodside High School Foundation, and the Boy Scouts of America. In his leisure time, Alan was an avid cyclist, golfer, and loved to travel with his family. The Cremers' family greatly appreciates all the support and kindness shown by many friends and neighbors in the community with special thanks to the Kaiser Cancer Care Team over the past three years. Alan is survived by his children, Claire and Matthew, his four brothers and three sisters, and many nieces and nephews. The family has planned a private memorial Mass at St. Pius Church on Friday July 22, 2022 at 11 a.m. You may join us via live stream by clicking on this link, https:/ius.org/stream .
