Anthony Joseph Scala, age 97 of Forest City died Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Hospice House in Forest City. Anthony was born on June 14, 1925, in Newark, New Jersey and was a son of the late Edward and Angelina Robino Scala. He was a proud graduate of the University of Miami where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. While there he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He worked as a sales representative for Warner-Lambert which later became Pfizer Pharmaceutical where he retired. A nthony was a resident of Texas for many years where he was a member of University Baptist Church in Sugarland, Texas. He and his wife moved to Forest City in June of 2020. H e was a part of the greatest generation and proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Everett Larson in the Pacific Theater during World War II. H e was preceded in death by a son, Edward Scala. S urvivors include his wife of 69 years, Delores Jefferson Scala, his son, Steve Scala and wife Amelia of Forest City, his daughter, Susan Hatton of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, his sister, Rita Puzzo of Middletown, New Jersey, and four grandchildren, Savannah Scala, Steven Scala, Jr., Eddie Scala, Jr., and Lacy Hatton. A private burial was held in the Cool Springs Cemetery. T he Padgett and King Mortuary & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
