Obituary

Bobby Gene "Bob" Boston, 89, of Sullivan, passed away on June 1, 2022, at Eskenazi Hospital Trauma Center in Indianapolis, Indiana; from complications of a tragic accident on the family farm. Bob was born on December 1, 1932, in Sullivan, Indiana; the son of Jesse and Freda (Freeze) Boston. Bob graduated from Sullivan High School in 1950 and later went on to graduate from Indiana State University, where he obtained his degree in education. He married Dee Asbury on May 24, 1953. After a short time of teaching and coaching the youth in Clinton, Indiana and Fairbanks, Indiana, Bob transitioned his career path to his passion of farming beginning in Lewis, Indiana on the Boston Family Farm. Bob was a member of the Sullivan First Baptist Church, Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, and the Sullivan Masonic Lodge. He was a lifelong, frustrated, Chicago Cubs fan and was the foundation in the family auction business. Bob is survived by his children, Terri (Richard) Sater, Jeff (Amy) Boston, and Clay Boston (Jazmin Salcedo), all of Sullivan; grandchildren, Jessica Sater, Victoria (Charles) Reed, Madison Boston, Aidan Boston, Natalia Mendoza, Jordi Mendoza; and two great-grandchildren, Hudson Reed and Hayden Reed. He was preceded in death by his parents, and beloved wife, Dee Boston on January 14, 2016. In keeping with Bob's wishes and strong leadership skills, cremation rites have been accorded and a private graveside service will be held at a later date at Mt. Tabor Cemetery with Rev. John Moyer officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob's memory to the Wabash Valley Community Church. Allen Funeral Home and Crematory, 4155 South Old State Road 37, Bloomington, have been entrusted with arrangements.
