Obituary

Cecil 'Pete' Eugene Coleman, age 58 of Canton, passed away Monday night at the Laurels at Canton, surrounded by his loving family, after an eight month battle with brain cancer.

 

Born in Canton to the late Paul Coleman, Pete was a 1972 graduate of Canton Lincoln High School. He retired from the Timken Company after 30 years then had been working at Gatsby's as security before his illness.

 

He is survived by his mother, Helen (Fletcher) Coleman of Canton, son and daughter-in- law, Todd and Nicole Coleman of Canton; daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Bill Cavada of Chicago, Ill.; grandchildren, Landon, Blayne and Hayden Coleman, Hartley Cavada, sisters and brothers-in- law, Theresa and Gary Smith, Diane and Kenny Stead, all of Canton; his brother from another mother, Barry Barbera; and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

Family and friends will be received on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Rossi Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Sue Bryan officiating. Respecting Pete's wishes, he will be cremated.

 

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Aultman Hospice. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dave and Karen Arthur for driving Pete to Radiation everyday. Thanks and gratitude to all of the nurses at Aultman Woodlawn and the Laurels and hospice nurses Barb, Antoinette, Jen and Dee for their care and compassion given Pete.
