Obituary

David Edward Stringfield (51) passed away July 3, 2017 at the Frauenshuh Cancer Center, Park Nicollet in St. Louis, Minnesota after a very brief battle with colon cancer.

 

David was born August 18, 1965 in Richmond, Indiana to Marilyn (Genutis) and James Stringfield. He graduated from Richmond High School in 1983, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in 1987, and received his Professional Engineer certification in the early 1990s.

 

Fire safety was very important to David. He had 33 years of fire protection experience with a background in property insurance, consulting, contracting and code enforcement. He served on State Code Committees working with the State Fire Marshal and National code development bodies.

 

From July 2012 until his death he was employed by Burns & McDonnell as their Senior Fire Protection Engineer. From May 2005 until June 2012 he worked for Summit Fire Protection as their Senior Fire Protection Engineer. He also worked as Fire Inspector for the University of Minnesota. He left Richmond shortly after graduating from Rose­Hulman to work for HPR Insurance in Minnesota and lived in the Minneapolis area until his death.
