Obituary

Gulfport, Mississippi - Everett Ward Faulk, Jr. died March 3, 2023 at home in Gulfport, Mississippi at the age of 88. He was born on August 22,1934 in Mobile, Alabama to Everett Ward Faulk, Sr. and Carolyn Acree Faulk. He is preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Jean Faulk Radcliff and his parents.

Mr. Faulk attended Leinkauf School in Mobile intermittently from 1940 to 1946. Schooling was frequently interrupted as he, along with his mother, sister and pet cat General followed his father's military assignments with the 31st infantry Division. He was graduated from University Military School in Mobile, and attended the University of Alabama where he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon.

Mr. Faulk enlisted in the US. Marine Corps in 1955. Following basic training, he was admitted to the U.S. Navy's Naval Aviation Cadet Program. As a helicopter pilot he was deployed in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and the 1958 Lebanon Intervention. After completing his military service, Mr. Faulk obtained a BS in Commerce from the University of Alabama and embarked upon a career in banking. Mr. Faulk was a Vice President of The Trust Company of Georgia in Atlanta, Executive Vice President & Director of First National Bank of Commerce in New Orleans, and Chief Executive Officer & Director of Gulf National Bank in Gulfport. He joined the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation(FDIC) and later closed his banking career at Hancock Bank in Gulfport.

Mr. Faulk leaves his beloved wife Cecile Starke Cowan Faulk. Together, they raised three children: Carolyn (Lyn) Cowan Faulk Roberts (Douglas) of Taylor, MS, Everett Ward Faulk III (Marian) of Mobile, and John Gresham Faulk (Dr. Tracy Acosta) of Biloxi. He was proud to be the grandfather of Cecile Frances Roberts, Jackson Guy Faulk and Allen Shepard Faulk.
