Obituary

Finas Pleasant Jones III, at the age of 86, entered eternal rest peacefully on Monday morning, April 3, 2023, at Heritage Manor of Mandeville. He was born in Houston, Texas on September 25, 1936, to Finas Pleasant Jones II and Katherine Derryberry Jones. Finas is survived by his brother, Derry Jones (Brenda) of Decatur, Texas; his nephews Lyle Jones (Brandy) of Fort Worth, Texas and Shannon Jones of Owasso, Oklahoma; and great nephews, Reilly, Lucas, and Brayden Jones. He will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends. Finas was preceded in death by his loving parents Finas and Katherine Jones. A native of Houston, Texas, and proud resident of Covington for over 40 years. Finas was a well-respected Petroleum Land Consultant. He enjoyed the rodeo scene and rode saddle broncs and bucking bulls in his younger days. The Jones family expresses their deepest gratitude to the outstanding care provided by St. Catherine's Hospice. Interment will take place privately at a later time. E.J.
