Frank A. Lude, age 80, of Rochester Hills, Michigan, passed away at Anthology Senior Living while in Hospice in Rochester Hills, on April 25, 2022Frank was born January 24, 1942, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to Frank and Lorena Lude, both of whom preceded him in death. Growing up in Fort Wayne, he attended Hamilton Elementary, James Smart Junior High and South Side (Class of 1960) High Schools While in high school, he was a line officer of the Fort Wayne chapter of DeMolay International and earned varsity letters in football. A National Merit Scholar, he earned a full academic scholarship from Lincoln Life Insurance Company to attend the University of Michigan from which he graduated in 1964. At Michigan, he pledged Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and was elected president in 1963, his junior year. Upon graduation, Frank was employed by Fisher Body in Swartz Creek, Michigan. He remained employed by General Motors until the data services operations were absorbed by Electronic Data Systems. His professional responsibilities included international travel. He retired from EDS in 1999A member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church, he served two terms as a member of the vestry, was head teller, editor of the newsletter and volunteered for eight years in St. Philip's Red Cross Blood DriveLike his father, Frank was an avid truck gardener. A winner of numerous ribbons at the Michigan State Fair including three prizes for Best of Show, he boasted a beautiful vegetable crop annually. He also was a connoisseur of good food and fine wineFrank is survived by Beatriz whom he joined in marriage at the chapel in Greenfield Village June 24, 1972. He also is survived by two daughters, Deanna (Ashley) Bergstrom, Grand Rapids, and Erica (Bill) Fisher, Canton, and one grandson Callen Fisher. A service celebrating the life of Frank A. Lude will be held at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Rochester on Saturday, May 7, at 12 noon. A luncheon will follow the service.
