Gearldine Estine Bingham
July 4, 1924 - May 13, 2021
Gearldine Estine Bingham returned to her heavenly home, May 13, 2021, at the age of 96. She was born July 4, 1924, in Allen, Oklahoma, to Henry and Eula Jones. On May 30, 1942, she eloped to marry the love of her life, Eugene Bingham, who preceded her in death in 2006 after 64 years of blessed marriage. The Bingham’s lived most of their married lives in Burkburnett, Texas.
Gearldine, also known as Jerry by her coworkers and friends, loved reading her Bible and daily devotionals; was an exceptional gardener, canning much sought after green beans, pickles and jellies; was a master of making delicious desserts; a gifted seamstress and maker of quilts. She was an avid daily walker and a whiz at numbers, but most importantly, “Granny” loved taking care of and being with her family. For 21 years, Gearldine worked as an accountant at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas. She retired with a well deserved Civil Service Achievement Award.
Gearldine was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Bingham; son, Gearld E. Bingham; son in law, Benny Fleming, DDS; beloved siblings, Imogene Brock, Patsy McCoy, and W. B. Jones.
Gearldine is survived by her daughter, Nita Fleming of Wichita Falls, wife of deceased husband Benny Fleming, DDS; daughter in law, Pam Bingham of Abilene, wife of Gearldine’s deceased son, Gearld E. Bingham; grandchildren, Marc Fleming and wife Lucero of Mesquite, Stephanie Hogan and husband John of Decatur, Kera Watts of Fort Worth, and Michael Bingham and wife Shari of Mansfield; great grandchildren, Abigail and Allison Fleming, Caleb and Cade Hogan, and Emory, Davis and Whitney Watts; brother, Edgar Jones and wife Dora of Oklahoma; and a host of nieces and nephews. All of these lives she loved and touched deeply.
The family would like to thank The Pines at Rolling Meadows and Beyond Faith Hospice for their loving care. Memorials may be made to Beyond Faith Hospice Care or a charity of your choosing.
