Dr. Harry Allen, 81, of Worthington, Ohio and Austin, Texas, passed away after a long illness on November 5, 2019. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend to everyone.
Harry was born in Brooklyn, New York, attended Stuyvesant High School and went on to graduate from Brooklyn College with a degree in Mathematics. He received his Masters and Ph.D. from Yale University in Mathematics and taught at MIT. He was granted a Nato post-doctoral research fellowship and spent a year in Amsterdam Holland.
After returning to the States, Harry taught at Rutgers University and then took a position at The Ohio State University where he taught until retirement. Go, Bucks!
Harry treasured his relationship with the love of his life, Marsha and they were married for 57 wonderful years. He was so proud of and loved his family very much. He leaves behind his best friend and wife Marsha Morrow Allen, daughter Cynthia (Barry) Wolff, son James (Maggie) Allen, grandchildren, Joshua and Matthew Allen, Lonnie (Natalia) Lingo, Alexandra and Andrea Wolff and great-grandchildren Natalia and Michael Lingo. He will be missed by Luis and Aracely Suarez, Nicole, Samantha, and Daniel Suarez, nephews and nieces.
Harry enjoyed fishing and was known for his baked goods and furniture building. He was a kind and gentle man, who saw something positive in everyone he met, regardless of age or education. He will be sorely missed.
