Obituary

Captain, U.S Army (Retired) Irene Ivy Swindel, 45, of Maimi, FL passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2022.

She was born on Jan 10, 1977, in Fort Worth, Texas to the late Colon Stonewall Davis, Sr., and Pearl Ivy Davis.


Dr. Swindel graduated from the University of Maimi, with a Doctoral of Philosophy Degree in Clinical Psychology. She was a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, a Diplomat in the American Psychotherapy Association, and a member of the American Association of Pastoral Counselors.


Capt. Swindel spent her life as a servant of the Lord. She served her country honorably in the United States Army. Following her retirement from military service, Swindel would go on to serve as a clinical psychologist to local areas of Florida, N. & S Carolina and her home state in Texas. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed her trips to Europe specifically Germany a time or two.


Dr. Swindel enjoyed backyard bird watching and working in her yard planting veggies. She also loved to read, expand her religious studies and listen to Christian music. She loved the beach where she found a place of solace and prayer. Dr. Swindel took her call to serve the community and other individuals seriously. She has now completed her earthly duties and has gone home to be with the Lord.


Dr. Swindel is survived by her beloved husband of 8 years, Dale Swindel, and her daughter Sarah Swindel; her step mother Natalie Swanson.


The family has requested no service since this will be a quiet cremation
