Obituary

Jack Ronald Johns went to be with the Lord on April 15, 2020, surrounded by family at his home. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona on Nov. 30, 1939 to Woodrow Johns and Jewel Johns. He was also raised by stepfather Fred Neese.

He was a graduate of West High School, Mesa Community College and University of Phoenix. He is survived by the love of his life, wife of 57 years Jean Snider Johns, daughter Jennifer Frandsen (Chris Frandsen) and son Johl Johns, grandchildren Andrew Frandsen, Lauren Frandsen and Katherine Frandsen, his brother Robert Johns (Phyllis), and relatives and friends whom he also loved very much. His son Jeffry Johns, preceded him in death.

He loved spending time with his family, and enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping, and being of service to friends and family.

Jack proudly served in the Navy as an electrician. He retired from Motorola after 35 years in 1998 after working as a plumber, Project Manager, and Captain of the Motorola Fire Brigade.

He was a faithful member of the Church of the Redeemer in Mesa for 48 years, serving as an elder, a Leader of Boy’s Brigade. In addition, he served on the Redeemer Christian School Board where he also assisted as a substitute teacher after retirement. In 2007, Jack volunteered on the Logos Hope ship in Croatia for 3 months.
