Jean Stabler, 94, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away November 17, 2020, with her family by her side. Jean's strong faith gave her assurance that she would be reunited with loved ones who have gone before.
Jean was born to Fletcher and Thelma Presley in Tallassee, Alabama. Jean graduated from Evergeen High School and received a BA from Asbury College in 1947.
Jean married Jack Stabler in 1948. They lived for many years in Mobile, Alabama until 1986 when they moved to Tallassee, Alabama. Jack and Jean relocated to Melbourne, Florida in 2013.
Jean is survived by her loving husband, Jack, and her two daughters, Beth Stabler Patterson and Lori Stabler.
Jean was a school teacher for more than 30 years. She was an excellent musician and singer, supporting the musical program of her church for many years as a pianist and vocalist. Jean loved Southern Style cooking specializing in comfort foods like her special chicken pie and anything sweet. As her health declined, Jean lost her appetite for food, but a bowl of ice cream would still bring a smile to her face.
Jean was a loving wife and mother and she leaves behind many beautiful memories. The family will be celebrating her life in a virtual memorial at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made in remembrance of Jean’s life to a charity of choice.
