Obituary

Lawrence - Juan Baron Fajardo, 68, of Lawrence, MA passed away peacefully in his home on August 16, 2020.

He was born September 21, 1951 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Juan was the middle son of Juan Francisco Fajardo and Altagracia Corona. In 1981, Juan moved to the United States to pursue the American Dream for his family and settled in Lawrence. In 2017, he retired after more than 32 years as Head Custodian at the Lawrence Public Library where he was known for his work ethic and laughter.

Juan was a dedicated provider who loved music, dancing, having his picture taken and reading the newspaper. His greatest and proudest accomplishment was being a father. Always known as the "serious" one from an early age, he was given keys to the house before his older brother and took on the responsibility of helping raise his younger half-siblings long before having his own children. The wellbeing of his family and friends were extremely important to him. He never forgot a birthday and had a poetic way with words. He was an intelligent man with an entertaining sense of humor who loved talking about politics, religion, his Dominican heritage and telling a good story.

Juan is survived by his daughters, Daffany Murphy, her husband Mark and 2 grandchildren, Daxylee and Liam of Atlanta, GA, and Bianca Saul, her husband David and 2 grandchildren, Vivien and Viktor of Lawrence, MA. Juan is also survived by 5 brothers and 4 sisters, many nieces and nephews and his wife Alsacia and her 6 grandchildren.

Due to the pandemic, a funeral service will be held on a future date in Dominican Republic.
