Kenneth "Ken" Wayne Okamoto, 74, of Milford, Ohio passed away on May 18 following complications from surgery to repair his heart. Ken graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in Psychology where he was a member of Lambda Chi fraternity. Ken went on to become the HR Director for Harris. Through his work, Ken lived in Melbourne, Fl, Quincy, Il and Milford, Oh. Ken retired from Harris after 34 years of service. Ask anyone Ken worked with and they will all say that Ken poured his heart into making people feel seen and valued. Ken's work ethic was beyond measure. In his spare time, Ken was an avid sports fan and had a love of cars. Following retirement, Ken's greatest joy was spending time with his four grandchildren who all lovingly referred to him as their "Boompa". Ken was a dedicated, loving husband to Christine McCann Okamoto for 52 years. The two met in college and were inseparable from their first date. Ken is survived by his wife, daughter Kelly (Jeff)Taylor, daughter Erin (Bill) Marcum and grandchildren Jackson, Tanner, Olivia and Abby. He was preceded in death by his son Michael, brother Richard and both parents. Those who knew Ken, know what a tremendous loss this is. All who had the pleasure of knowing him know him for his kind, generous heart and hugs that made everything better. The family will have a private celebration of life. If you knew Ken, you knew that he loved dogs. In lieu of flowers, donations to a no kill animal shelter can be made in his name.
