Matthew Frederick Stauffer, passed away unexpectedly April 11. Born in York, he was the son of Suzon B. Stauffer and the late Frederick E. Stauffer.
He was a 1991 graduate of Red Lion SHS, where he was a member of the National Honor Society, an All-County soccer player and kicked for the football team. He was a 1995 graduate of Lafayette College with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon and ROTC. Following graduation he served in the Army with the 101st Airborne Screaming Eagles. During this time he was twice awarded the Army Achievement Medal. He was employed by Ryder Trucking. His memberships included the White Rose VFW.
He is survived by his beloved children Luke, Molly, Ty, Troy, and Jane, and his mother. He will also be remembered with great love and laughter by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends and fraternity brothers. His truck-dog Tank misses him greatly. He was preceded in death by his brother Benjamin.
The family services will be held privately under the direction of Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc. of East York. A celebration of his life will be held at a future date.
