Michael Damian Fitchett, born September 29, 1966 in Camp Pendleton, California, passed away on December 9, 2022.
When his father retired from the Navy in 1976, the family moved to Jamestown, North Dakota, where Michael completed his secondary education, always at the top of his class. While at Jamestown High School, he excelled at singing and playing his bass guitar. He started his own band at the age of 16 and continued playing in multiple bands through his college years.
Michael attended his first year of college at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Terre Haute, IN). He then transferred to the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, from which he graduated in 1990. He was a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity.
After graduation, Michael lived and worked in the Twin Cities and later, in 1998, moved to Denver, Colorado. Here he was employed in the mortgage business and also worked in accounting. While living in the Denver area, he met and married Brenda Sarconi and their daughter, Megan, was born. He lived for a short time in Grand Island, Nebraska, then moved to Houston, Texas where he worked in the gas industry.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Capt. Vernon H. Fitchett, MC, USN (Ret). He is survived by his daughter Megan Kay Fitchett, mother Kathryn Mikwold, sister Elizabeth (Michael) Schielke, brother Benjamin (Lisa) Fitchett, nephews Tyler Schielke, Austin Schielke, Luke Schielke, Evan Fitchett, Matthew Fitchett, and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and loved ones.
