MICHAEL DAVID RAINGE, Jr. was born in Lansing, Michigan on July 31, 1967, to Michael David Rainge, Sr. and Exie Ola Rainge.

He declared his faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at a very early age and he was baptized at New Revelation Baptist Church in Pasadena, California.

He attended elementary and high school in Pasadena California and graduated from Chaffey High School in Rancho Cucamonga, California. After high school he attended Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, California.


He met and married Madeline Pearson, his wife of 33 years in California. To this union two children were born, Miles and Mercedes Rainge.


The last years of his life he and his wife moved back to our family home in Linden, Texas, where he lived out our grandfather's legacy. He was an extraordinary chef. He opened Smiling Hog BBQ restaurant in Jefferson, Tx which he ran with his wife. He also started East Texas Media, a graphic design service and Green Acres, where he farmed the land and supplied local stores with fresh vegetables.


​He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Madeline Rainge of Bastrop, Tx; son Miles (Ciera) Rainge of Bastrop, Tx; daughter Mecedes Rainge (Jon)of Austin, Tx; mother Exie Henry and step-father Leroy Henry of Waelder, Tx; father Michael Rainge Sr. of Lansing, MI; three brothers; Earl Greer of Smithville, Tx, Mitch Rainge of Lansing MI, and Elijah Rainge of Lansing, MI who preceded him in death; Five sisters; Cheryl Greer of Duarte, Ca, Markina (Smitty) Smith of Manvel, Tx, Sunyani Henry of California, Kiwanda Henry of Dallas, Tx, Nadia Lockett of Lansing, MI; seven nephews Patrick(Kiana) Smith , Delwyn Randle, Brandin Greer, Kyle Greer, Joey Lockett; three niece: Kasidee Rainge, Maya Rainge, Lil Nadia Stewart; seven grandchildren, Jaydah Rainge, Isaiah Rainge, Miles Rainge, Jr , Ellijah Rainge, Sade' Miranda, Sarafina Miranda ,Aniyah Rainge; One great niece Jreux Smith and a host of other relatives.
