Mildred Mae Barnes, of Orlando, FL, just 78 years old, died unexpectedly on August 22, 2021 from complications following hip surgery. Her family and all who enjoyed her friendship are deeply saddened by her sudden, untimely passing.
Millie was born February 15, 1943 -- the youngest of four siblings; brother George, sister Florence, and Millie's fraternal twin sister, Margaret. She attended Darby High School in PA and lived in San Jose, CA most of her life. Millie dedicated 40 years of service working for the Social Security Administration and then retired. She couldn't stay retired, so she blessed H & R Block with her administrative skills.
Anyone who knew Millie would tell you that she was a loyal friend, caring family member and passionately devoted to the care of her one and only true love - her cats. All of Millie’s cats enjoyed the privilege of being her “fur baby” and received the royal treatment befitting the status they held in her heart. Which explains why any contributions in memory of Millie can be made to any charity benefiting cats - both big and small.
Mille is survived by her niece, Karen Hann, niece Janet Proctor and nephew, Sean Lindsay as well as her extended family and an abundance of friends.
She was a loving and caring person with a giving soul. Millie was the last in her generation. She is now reunited with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. We will miss her and always remember "That Smile!"
