Robert L. Goldberg entered into eternal rest on July 5, 2021 at St. John's Hospital in Yonkers. He was 84 years old. He was born on Dec. 19, 1936 in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of the late Hyman and Ruth (Horwitz) Goldberg. Robert graduated from Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan and New York University at the University Heights Campus in the Bronx. In College, he was a member of the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC). Robert attained the rank of Captain during his service from 1956 to 1963 in the U.S. Army Infantry Reserves. In 1976, he married Dr. Mary L. Moller. Their union continued for 45 years while they resided in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y. Robert was a mason for the rest of his life and served as a volunteer member of the Briarcliff Manor Fire Dept. for some of those years. Until his retirement, he worked for the City of New York primarily in the Department of Housing Preservation and Development. Robert held many positions throughout his career including Real Estate Manager, Site Manager, and Assistant to the Chief of Staff. Robert had an enduring love of knowledge and was always pleased to share with others his insight and wisdom. Many people in government and business recognized the value of his opinion on a great many subjects. He is survived by his wife Mary and was predeceased by his parents and brother Conrad. Robert leaves many trusted friends, colleagues and neighbors who will greatly miss their conversations with him.
