Ronald Burton Caspell

Ronald Burton Caspell, 78 years old, of Abilene, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 18, 2022. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Friday March 11th, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM that evening at Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut St.
Ronald was born on March 24, 1943, to Mr. and Mrs. Edwin and Louise Caspell in New Haven, Connecticut. Ronald served in the Army from 1965 to 1971 as an SP5 Artillery Specialist. He was an insurance salesman and surety bond underwriter for 48 years in Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania before finally moving to Abilene in 1981.
Ronald was a member at the First Baptist Church in Abilene. He served as a Deacon and was on many church committees. He was president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Abilene and was also an active member of the Abilene Kiwanis Club.
Ronald is survived by his sons Jonathan Caspell and wife Denise of Lubbock, and Andrew Caspell and wife Delena of Abilene, brother Gerald Caspell of Quinlan, grandsons Taylor, Cameron, and Maddox Caspell, granddaughters Shaelee and Lauren Caspell, sister in law Barbara Caspell, nephews Brian and Jordan Caspell, nieces Lenore Young and Chelsea Caspell-Garcia, former wife of 43 years Dianne Caspell, and many beloved family members. Ronald is preceded in death by his father and mother, Edwin and Louise Caspell, and brother Richard Caspell.
