Roy Dankman passed in the hospital on November 27, 2022, at age 90. Roy was born April 12, 1932, in Brooklyn, New York to Isidor and Sadie (nee Waxer) Dankman. His parents had immigrated from the area of Russia which is now part of the Ukraine and Belarus. He was the youngest of four children.
He is survived by his wife, Esther Wright-Dankman; two sons, Barry Dankman and Mark Dankman (Taty Diaz); and his two grandsons, Brian and Joshua.
Roy graduated from Stuyvesant High School in New York City. In 1954, he graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri with a bachelor's degree in architectural engineering. He designed and built many homes in St. Louis, Yuba City and Sacramento.
He later received his J.D. from UCLA Law School. He worked in law in California and accepted judgeship in Los Angeles county specializing in juvenile law. In the 1980s, Roy moved to Marysville to work with his brother, Herb, in farming.
Roy had an amazing and long term hobby in photography. He traveled all over the United States producing artful photographs in many varieties of nature. He loved baking and went to the International School of Baking in San Francisco. His meals were definitely gourmet', full of flavor and enjoyed by all.
In lieu of flowers, Roy would prefer donations to St. Jude Hospital (stjude.org) or Shriner's Hospital (donate.lovetotherescue.org).
