Obituary

Sean Duane Breed passed away on February 7, 2023 at the age of 39 in Fort Worth, Texas. Sean was born to Mike and Barbara Breed on January 6, 1984 in Snellville, Georgia. At the age of four, Sean and his older brother, Michael, moved with their parents to Yarmouth, Maine where they lived until 1994. Even after leaving Maine, Sean and Michael spent many summers in the brisk water of Higgins Beach in Scarborough, Maine, as well as winters skiing together in Maine, New Mexico and Colorado. Sean spent his middle school and high school years in Abilene, Texas. At Wylie High School Sean played the saxophone in the marching, concert, and jazz bands and was also a member of the Wylie Bulldogs tennis team. His first two years of college were spent at Baylor University, where he was a member of the Lambda Chi fraternity and participated in the Baylor Bears marching band. He then transferred to the University of Texas at Arlington, graduating in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering. During Sean's 16 years as a field engineer, estimator and project manager he played an integral role in the construction of large scale industrial projects as varied as the world's first hybrid solar-natural gas energy center in Florida, to the fabrication of oil production equipment modules for northern Alberta, Canada. His career allowed him to live in many interesting places including Jupiter, Florida; Vancouver, British Columbia; and Richmond, Virginia. Sean will be remembered for his unique sense of humor, his independent spirit, and his many varied interests. He appreciated music and literature, with an unconventional bent. He especially enjoyed the music of Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits. His taste in literature was eclectic and wide ranging. He read with passion and with great appreciation of a well turned phrase. His insatiable curiosity led him down pages of philosophy, religion and politics. Sean enjoyed attending concerts, watching Criterion Collection films and collecting Fluevog shoes. He is survived by his parents Mike and Barbara Breed, his brother Michael Breed, sister in law Kristi, nieces Eleanor, Julianna, and Adelaide; his aunt Cindy and husband Roger Albert, cousins David Albert, Lynne Albert Hermsmeier, and Sara Albert Beck; his uncle Bud and wife Jane Wilkinson, cousins Jennifer and husband Jeff Gaston, Stephanie and husband Mark Parde, and Lisa and husband Brady Bergmeyer; aunt Anita and husband Terry Zimmerman, cousins Dan Zimmerman and Jessica Zimmerman; aunt Trisha Dubas, cousins Jaime and husband Scott Thompson and Jessie and husband Tyler Merry; uncle Pat and wife Jean Breed; and cousin Lisa Menconi. Sean was also loved by his second family, Tushar and Sujata Shahane, Rhea and Tanvi. Numerous second cousins and friends loved Sean as well. Sean was predeceased by his grandparents Robert and Eleanor Breed, and Duane and Florence Wilkinson. Sean dearly loved his dogs, Australian Shepherds Oren and Magnum.
