Suzanne Sullivan McHugh


Bonita Springs - Suzanne Sullivan McHugh, a long-time resident of Bonita Springs Florida passed away on December 22, 2021 surrounded by her family. Suzanne is survived by her three children and their spouses, Jonathan (Elaine), Sally (Mark) and Julie (Bob) as well as her seven grandchildren, Emily, Julia, Jack, Matthew, Nick, Conor, and Amanda. Suzanne was born September 19, 1940, in Baltimore, Maryland to Mary-Claire and William Sullivan. She graduated from Bon Secours School of Nursing in 1960. Suzanne served as a nurse for 45 years at Walter Reed Hospital Center and The Veterans Administration Hospital. She then retired to Bonita Springs, Florida for 10 years. During her retirement years, she enjoyed frequent happy hours with her friends, golfing, and Karaoke. She was a loved member of the Pelican Nest Country Club where she led as President of the Community Singles Club. She enjoyed days at the beach and spending time with her grandchildren. In her later years, Suzanne enjoyed volunteering at local community health clinics, using her experience as a dedicated nurse. Suzanne also immersed herself in the craft of watercolor painting creating beautiful and unique pieces. She specifically loved painting the serene landscape around her. A celebration of life for Suzanne will be held at a later date.
