William Andrews William G. "Bill" Andrews Resident of Walnut Creek William G. "Bill" Andrews died March 30, 2010 at age 81. He was born on November 12, 1928 in Lebanon, PA, a son of the late J. Arthur Andrews Sr. and Rose Geissler Andrews. He worked in the family drugstore business until he graduated from Reading (PA) High School in 1946. He graduated from Muhlenberg College with a degree in Business, then served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant. Following his military service he returned to college and earned a degree in Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science in 1954. He joined Geigy Pharmaceuticals (now Novartis) where he worked in pharmaceutical sales for nearly 40 years until his retirement. He moved with his family to Walnut Creek in 1974. Bill was a member of the Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church, Mt. Olivet Lodge No. 704 and SIR Branch 116. Bill was an avid gardener, enjoyed golf and during retirement volunteered as a tax-aide worker at the Pleasant Hill Senior Center. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Betsy Andrews; his two sons and daughters-in-law William and Julia Andrews, and Douglas and Adrianne Andrews; and five grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by them. He was preceded in death by his brother James A. Andrews, Jr. His memorial service was held at the Walnut Creek Presbyterian Church on April 10.
